Peter Renton started off the day by announcing the winners of our second annual PitchIt @ LendIt competition. In the end, AutoFi took home the award for judges’ choice and LogicFI won the audience choice award. This year’s winner receives a complimentary bronze sponsorship package for LendIt USA 2017.

Peter Thiel, entrepreneur and investor delivered a keynote on day 2 of LendIt USA 2016. Thiel spoke about startups and trends in technology in his keynote presentation titled Developing The Developed World. Thiel then sat down with Emily Chang of Bloomberg West for an interview. It is available to view on the LendIt website.

In the morning we also heard from Dan Ciporin of Canaan partners, Noah Breslow of OnDeck, Sam Hodges of Funding Circle and John C. Williams of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Emily Chang sat down with Jackie Reses of Square to learn about how Square is quietly becoming a large small business lender. Telis Demos of the Wall Street Journal spoke to CEO Mike Cagney on the biggest gating factors for the future of non-bank lending.

Throughout the day our presentation theater featured company demos from established businesses as well as startups who each gave a ten minute presentation. We also offered Fund Manager Presentations where accredited investors could hear from investment funds that exist in the industry.

In the afternoon we broke out to various sessions, taking a closer look at some of the most important topics in online lending. We have already posted many videos from the main sessions, China Pavilion, company demos as well as from our breakout sessions: Most Interesting Topics in Lending and Innovations Shaping The Future. Presentations will be posted to the LendIt Blog in the next few days.

Thanks to everyone who helped make LendIt USA 2016 a success and we will see you in New York for LendIt USA 2017!
