Starling Bank Raises Close to $100mn

UK based challenger bank has raised over $96mn as they eye European expansion; $77mn of the round came from Meridian Global Investors with $19mn from existing investors; Anne Boden, founder and chief executive of Starling Bank, says to Banking Technology: “Our ambition is to use our technology to build a next-generation global, digital banking platform, starting with our launch across Europe this year.”; the capital will also be used to further invest in financial products for retail and SME banking in the UK.
