Abundance Offers IFISA for Crowd Bonds

Crowdfunding platform, Abundance, has launched the UK's first innovative finance individual savings accounts (IFISAs) for investors in crowd bonds; the investment offering follows an announcement from the UK Treasury that it will extend qualified investments in UK IFISAs to crowd bonds; platform offers bond investments from renewable energy companies; the company is able to offer the IFISAs because of its status as an investment-based crowdfunding platform.  Source

Market Reports on P2P Lending and Crowdfunding in China

Wangdaizhijia has released two market reports providing insight and projections on P2P lending and crowdfunding in China; report finds 2,235 P2P platforms with total loans of $385 billion, including $181 billion in loans originated in January through August of 2016; predicting originations of $300 billion for online lending in 2016; nonlending crowdfunding  market is smaller with 380 platforms as of August and crowdfunded investments of $1.57 billion for January to August of 2016.  Source

Status of UK Crowdfunded Companies since 2011

AltFi published their second installment of "Where They are Now?" - a report on the status of UK crowdfunded companies since 2011; 751 companies are listed; 73.60% of the companies remain active and 11% have closed; top platforms in the UK include: Crowdcube, Seedrs, SyndicateRoom, AngelsDen, Code Investing and Venture Founders.  Source

UK Will Allow Crowd Bonds in IFISAs

The UK Treasury has announced it will allow crowd bonds in innovative finance individual savings accounts (IFISAs); crowd bond investors will invest in bonds of companies through crowdfunded platforms with their investments held in a tax sheltered account facilitated by the crowdfunding platform; the expansion of crowd bonds in IFISAs makes the crowdfunded investments more attractive because of the tax shelter, also providing greater benefits for an investment that's not secured by the government's FSCS protection.  Source

Regulatory Reform in France Broadens Crowdfunded Offerings for Companies

A second regulatory reform focused on crowdfunding has gone into effect in France; the reform will broaden the offerings available for crowdfunded investing and lending; on crowdfund platforms, companies can now raise 2.5 million euros in equity funding through simple shares, plain vanilla bonds, preferred shares, participatory notes and convertible bonds; on crowdlending platforms, borrower limits were increased for qualified lenders to 2,000 euros individual lending per project; the reform also introduces new minibon debt securities.  Source
