N26 has shared that they have crossed 5 million customers, up from 3.5 million last summer; in 2019 they added more customers than in all previous years combined; much of their growth was in Germany, France and Austria; last year they launched in the US, but the offering has little that is unique; US consumers have dozens of interesting options and all of the digital banks are fighting for their business; in order for N26 to better compete they may have to improve their US offering if they are going to repeat the success they have seen in Europe.
