The bank announced today plans to open 90 branches by the end of 2019 as competition from other top banks continue; they plan to hire 700 employees in the new markets which include Charlotte, Minneapolis, Nashville and Pittsburgh; in recent years the bank has been decreasing the number of branches, cutting the number by 10% from 2014 to 2018; JPMorgan also expects to open branches in major college towns.
