Working with fintechs has been a lengthy process for most banks with timing lasting about 12 to 18 months on average; Business Insider talked with executives at JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs to understand how they are working with fintechs today; “By working in the ecosystem and being viewed as a partner of choice, it allows us to see around corners. See at the edges. See where the world is headed,” Stephanie Cohen, Goldman Sachs chief strategy officer, told Business Insider; JPMorgan Chase created what they call a rapid proof of concept or RPOC to speed up the time at which they would decide on a potential idea; Morgan Stanley has brought in a group of venture capitalists to help them better understand what startups are building and if it might be a fit for the bank; Goldman Sachs selects a point person inside the bank to help the fintechs better understand how they can work with the bank and if their product is a fit for a division.
