LendIt Fintech confirmed the opening speaker at their USA event May 25-26 at the Javitz Center is Chris Britt, Founder, and CEO of Chime.

Since its launch in 2013, Chime has added millions of users and put the challenge into challenger bank. It has doubled in value many times over, last valued at around $25 billion in an April 2021 Series G.

According to Forbes, it took five years for Chime to hit the one million customer mark, but only a couple of months more to top four million in 2019.

“The current banking system is adversarial and out to punish you with a variety of fees,” Chris Britt told Insider in 2019. “What our customers value is a mobile app that works, transparent pricing for our products, and they don’t need to come and visit us in a branch — we have to be an authentic brand.”

Britt, a former fintech ecosystem partner at Visa and Green Dot, built products and worked in corporate development before launching the Chime brand as a financial health alternative banking service. Britt has led the charge against overdraft fees, and he has long been a proponent of dropping them altogether.

Keynote preview: Sucess Stories in Fintech

On the LendIt Fintech USA keynote stage for the first time, you will meet Chime CEO and Cofounder Chris Britt.

Chime has become one of the biggest success stories in all of fintech. In this session, you will learn more about what makes Chime unique and how Chime’s member-aligned business model has made Chime the most loved and downloaded banking app in the US.

Chris will discuss Chime’s founding story, what opportunity he and his co-founder Ryan King saw back in 2012 when the company was founded, and how Chime is driving positive change in the industry and improving the financial lives of millions of people with products like SpotMe, Chime’s fee-free overdraft.

You’ll also hear more about Chime’s community of members, who are at the heart of Chime’s success.

“I am thrilled to be speaking at LendIt Fintech in New York City,” Britt said. “It is great to be back to in-person events, and I am looking forward to connecting with the fintech community and sharing the Chime story in my keynote session.”
