Vanguard and Ant Financial have a joint venture and have created a new robot adviser to market to Ant’s 900 million users; the service is called “Bang Ni Tou” or Help You Invest; it targets users who have at least $113 to invest in mutual funds; users get advice in selecting a portfolio of investments which includes 6,000 mutual funds; from there transactions take place automatically and the service also helps users re-balance; the service is accessible through Alipay and Ant Fortune; data projects that the retail funds market could grow to $3.4 trillion by 2023, a number the two are looking to capitalize on; the venture has been approved by China Securities Regulatory Commission.
