Bank of America earned 418 patents in 2019, which is 100 more than the 318 they earned in 2018 and more than any other bank; Bank of America now holds more than 3,900 patents and applications as they have proven to be one of the most innovative financial institutions in the world; one of the biggest project the bank is working on is a public cloud for financial firms with IBM; according to Business Insider the forthcoming service will be tailored to the cloud computing needs of banks, with features like automated security tools and top-level encryption, in which data is converted into code to restrict unauthorized access; the company is also known for their automated assistant Erica which has amassed more than 10 million users since launching in 2018.
