Marc Roberts is the general counsel for German fintech Raisin and the founding president of the European Fintech Association; while the organization launched just last week it has been running in stealth mode since the end of last year and already has attracted 21 members including the six founding members: Moneyfarm, N26, Funding Circle, Finleap, Transferwise and Raisin; as for the goals of the association Roberts told AltFi, “There are topics are being discussed at a European level, and we think our voice has not been heard enough…we want to rectify that”; these topics include cross border financial services, digital identity, consumer protections laws, and anti-money laundering; often times these issues have a national approach with little coordination across borders.
