Credit Karma is seen as one of the hottest fintech startups in the world and a potential 2020 IPO candidate; Business Insider sat down with CEO Ken Lin and CMO Greg Lull to talk about the company’s recent shift to adding financial products and the likeliness of a listing; the executives talked about the challenges of marketing to generation Z as credit reports are not the sexiest product out there; using influencers through different social media venues has helped the company amass millions of users with 50 percent being millennials; Lin also talked about the early days and key meeting with TransUnion that at the time he thought was the make or break meeting for the future existence of the company; they secured the partnership with the credit reporting agency and have since added Equifax amongst other partners; the company has seen significant growth and success which has helped to become one of the top fintech companies in the world over the last 5 years.
