Pre-event marketing

Your first move, of course, happens before you ever get to the show floor. Use pre-event marketing as an extension of your year-round marketing plan, and be sure to lead with high-value content. You can begin to curate visits to your stand by offering valuable information and expertise online. Tag @LendIt in your posts… a lot of people tune in to our channels, so it’s a good way to get noticed.

Get the lay of the land

On Day Zero — the day before the conference kicks off — you have an advantage.  Arrive at the venue early and take the opportunity to obtain your badge, walk the floor and get to know the space. As you’re setting up your booth, be sure to walk around a bit.  Check your list of people you want to meet, and go find out where their booths are.

Set quantifiable goals

If you’re properly prepared, you’ll know exactly why you’re here and how you’ll measure success. Quantifying that measurement makes a big difference in proving ROI, which is something we’re both going to be very interested in measuring.  How many qualified leads will you generate? How many introductions will you make? What follow-up meetings will you organize? Now track your results with detail.

Network like a champ

Without a doubt, this is the number one way to move the needle for your company. Activate your subscription to our Brella networking app now and start to curate meetings with people that are meaningful to you. Everyone has a subscription to the app, but you must activate your account in order to appear & be available to network. Activate your account, get matched, and search for great connections. If you take networking seriously, I guarantee you will have an amazing event.

Stand up!

If you have exhibition space (good move!), take the initiative. Be energizing, confident. Stand up, get out from behind the desk, and make eye contact with everyone in your space. You own that space — engage with it, bring it alive!

Keep in mind that the audience won’t always come just to hear your pitch. Make sure that, as you engage with them, you are getting to know what problems you can solve for them.

Promote your team and not just your product

Most companies are very focused on getting people to understand and demo their products. However, it is just as important to bring attention to the knowledgeable people in your team and promote them as thought leaders.

 Join the party

Social events and parties are a big part of the LendIt Fintech conference experience. There are dozens of events & extracurriculars to choose from. Be sure to start at August Hall, 420 Mason Street, on Monday evening at 5:30 for our Art of Innovation party.
