The Confidential Consortium framework called Coco is an ethereum-based protocol that organizations can use to process information on the ethereum blockchain; Microsoft Azure's CTO says it can help enterprises scale their operations securely; explaining the benefits of the technology, Coco user, Tom Racette, vice president at Mojix, said: "Being able to run our existing supply chain Dapp code much faster within Coco framework is a great performance improvement that will reduce friction when we talk about enterprise blockchain readiness with our retail customers. Adding data confidentiality support without sacrificing this improvement is what will enable us to lead the digital transformation we are envisioning with smart supply chains." Source

WSFS Financial, which is the parent company of WSFS Bank, announced a Private Student Lending Solutions offering; the new offering will expand their current consumer business and they believe this will help bridge the gap created in the student lending space; WSFS is partnering with leading technology provider LendKey to leverage their application, disbursement and servicing of the loans; Rick Wright, WSFS executive vice president and chief retail banking officer, said, "We want to be that valued resource that customers turn to when they start the difficult process of figuring out how to fund college." JPMorgan asset-backed securities (ABS) analysts have highlighted marketplace lending securitizations, noting their growth and trending performance; cite marketplace lending ABS as one of the fastest growing securitization categories, increasing from $3.3 billion in 2013 to $9 billion in 2016; also say performance is better or similar to the broad market's ABS consumer loan securitizations overall with higher returns and lower default rates; additionally, the analysts report that credit characteristics on Avant's securitizations have improved.
