Ranger Direct Lending Fund Plans for More Share Issuances

The Ranger Direct Lending Fund has reported plans for share issuance totaling 200 million British pounds through 2017; the Fund currently has a 40 million British pound issuance planned for December; it also raised 30 million British pounds in July and 23.2 million British pounds in November of 2016; according to a statement from Ranger Direct Lending, "The company believes that debt instruments originated or issued by direct lending platforms are an attractive and growing asset class that have the potential to provide higher returns for investors than other, more widely available, fixed income products."; growth from the asset class and potential returns are factors driving the new issuances.  Source

China-based, QuantGroup, has raised $73 million in a Series C funding round led by Sunshine Insurance Group Corporation, Fosun Capital, Guosen Hongsheng Investment Co., Ltd. and other undisclosed investors; QuantGroup is an online financial services platform offering credit products; it evolved from the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator and is led by Zhou Hao with experience at Morgan Stanley, Capital One and Barclays.  Source

Banks Grappling with Problems from Zelle

Customers using Zelle within their banking app have fallen prey to a scam where they send money for tickets but never receive the ticket; since the transaction is instantly done the scammer then closes their account and by the time the bank fully settles the payment the money is gone; banks in the Zelle network, and Zelle itself, have said do not send money to anyone unless you know and trust them; when money is lost customers are asking who should be responsible for replace the funds, should the bank refund them or Zelle; the relationship between the banks and Zelle is not entirely clear from the user perspective, with more frauds occurring customers are starting to ask more questions. New Blockchain Fund to Use Cryptographic Audit

Token-as-a-Service (TaaS), co-founded by Konstantin Pysarenko, Ruslan Gavrilyuk, Dmytro Chupryna and Maksym Muratov, will offer a blockchain fund through an initial coin offering (ICO); the fund will issue tokens which represent a proof-of-membership; the fund will perform a cryptographic audit to track trading activity; TaaS is also developing a new blockchain analytic platform called Kepler that will provide data similar to Bloomberg; according to founder Konstantin Pysarenko: "The overall aim of TaaS is to deliver long-lasting innovations in the blockchain industry. And, we believe that TaaS and Kepler are on track to revolutionize the journey of investing in cryptocurrencies and tokens forever and we are excited to watch it all unfold."  Source
