Žltý Melón's new offering for investors will allow them to lend money to homebuyers to help finance mortgage deposits; launched in 2012 the platform has facilitated EUR7 million (USD $8.2 million) to borrowers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia; the new loan offering, called the CashFree Hypo loan, will be available to anyone who has been approved for a standard mortgage by a bank in Slovakia. Customers using Zelle within their banking app have fallen prey to a scam where they send money for tickets but never receive the ticket; since the transaction is instantly done the scammer then closes their account and by the time the bank fully settles the payment the money is gone; banks in the Zelle network, and Zelle itself, have said do not send money to anyone unless you know and trust them; when money is lost customers are asking who should be responsible for replace the funds, should the bank refund them or Zelle; the relationship between the banks and Zelle is not entirely clear from the user perspective, with more frauds occurring customers are starting to ask more questions. Leading Canadian point-of-sale (POS) platform Flexiti Financial raised an oversubscribed CAD$6.25 million (USD$5 million) convertible debt offering; they will use the capital to accelerate growth and improve technology; according to Flexiti Financial Founder and CEO Peter Kalen: "Retailers across Canada are looking for unique solutions to increase sales and maintain customer loyalty in a highly competitive and shifting market. Flexiti Financial's POS lending platform has become an important tool in their sales arsenal, and this investment will help us better serve our retail partners while managing our growth across Canada." P2P Global Investments' shares fell 20.7% on the London Stock Exchange in 2016; the fund's portfolio manager Simon Champ provides some insight on the fund's performance; the underlying assets reported a lower than expected 4.1% return due to increased delinquencies from loans at the midpoint of their duration; hedging costs have also been a factor with approximately 60% of US loans in the portfolio; as the investable market expands the fund is likely to increase its investment in European loans to help diversify away from currency risks.
