Deloitte surveyed 308 senior executives at companies with revenue of $500 million or more to gain a better understanding of the corporate market's blockchain technology positioning; survey finds widespread interest across all industries; 61% of surveyed respondents had broad to expert knowledge of blockchain and the majority of these respondents said blockchain adoption would be important for their business; while attention for blockchain innovation has mainly been focused on the financial services industry, Deloitte's survey finds significant innovation and progression across multiple industries; most notably, the consumer products and manufacturing industries have reported the greatest number of patent filings, with 38% of respondents reporting blockchain patents filed by their company. Republic Bank & Trust Co. launched a digital-only bank branded as MemoryBank, this would stand alone from Republic and would aim to offer simplified products; this digital bank is courting those in Generation X, as opposed to the millennial generation; according to Andrew Varga, Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer of Republic Bank & Trust Co., the new digital bank will allow for the regional bank to have a national footprint. Monzo has added the first batch of partnerships to their marketplace by striking deals with digital wealth investment accounts and online lenders; companies include Scalable Capital, Wealthify, Wealthsimple, WiseAlpha, Zopa, Bricklane.com and Octopus Choice; Monzo will not be making a commission from any of these agreements; the company has also opened up an interim third-party API to comply with open banking regulations.
