Libra has Potential to Upend Plans for Fintech Companies

There has been considerable buzz around Facebook’s Libra project and what it means for the monetary systems; fintech companies are also grappling with what the news will mean for them in the next few years; fintech firms PayPal and Stripe are founding members of the Libra Association which will help them to wok alongside the social media giant and others; Transferwise, Remitly and Azimo are not part of the association yet, though some of these firms are open to working with them or have worked with Facebook in other ways; while details are still to be discovered the Libra project is sure to have fintech companies thinking about the potential disruption from Facebook.
