London-based Greensill Capital, backed by SoftBank, has made an acquisition in Latin America; in an all-stock deal Greensill, whose primary business is supply chain finance, will acquire Colombia-based fintech Omni Latam; Omni provides working capital to small and midsize businesses in Colombia and Chile; Greensill founder and CEO Lex Greensill said, “We realized Latin America requires very special skills, and yet at the same time the region has a very significant working-capital gap that we estimate to be on the order of $750 billion”; Omni was founded just two years ago in Bogota and has provided about $300 million in digital working capital products to date.
