Sifted has done some interesting analysis on the founders of the top 10 leading digital banks in the UK; it was interesting to see that the founders of most of the top digital banks don’t have tech backgrounds, rather they cut their teeth in banking while some have little to no background in financial services; Martin Mignot, a partner at Index Ventures and early investor in Revolut, said, “The most disruptive companies are rarely founded by deep domain experts, because those are the people who can see all the potential pitfalls and reasons why the company may fail. As a founder, you need a healthy amount of ignorance.” Sifted.
