Two Great Bonus Offers from Lending Club

Leading peer to peer lender Lending Club has two great offers going right now for investors. Both of these offers will provide cash in your pocket when you invest new money with Lending Club.

1. Invest $2,500 and get $100 cash

There are not many places where you can a 4% return instantly on your money but here is one. When you open an account and fund it with $2,500, Lending Club will kick in an extra $100 for you. Of course, there is fine print and it is all spelled out clearly for you when you click the link above.

One word of warning, though. Your $2,500 must be “fully invested on the Lending Club platform within 45 days of your registration date.” This might be more challenging than you think, because when you invest in a large number of notes there is no guarantee that all your investments will go through. By that I mean, if the loan you invest in doesn’t get funded fully then your money is returned to you. But don’t worry, Lending Club does a great job of keeping you informed on the status of all your investments and whatever money is returned to you, you can just reinvest in new loans until you have all $2,500 invested. That is why they give you 45 days to complete the process.

One other point to note, this special offer is not available if you just go to the Lending Club home page and sign up, you need to go through an authorized affiliate link like this one.

2. Up to 3% cash bonus for IRA investors

If you have an IRA account with Lending Club this is a great way to get some additional cash working for you. Basically, the more new money you invest, the greater the percentage bonus:

  • $5,000 and receive a 1.5% cash bonus
  • $25,000 and receive a 2% cash bonus
  • $50,000 and receive a 2.5% cash bonus
  • $100,000 and receive a 3.0% cash bonus

Now, IRA limits will affect anyone who wants to fund an existing IRA ($5,000 if you are under 50, $6,000 for those 50 and older) so to get the larger bonuses you have to rollover an existing IRA to Lending Club. There is also some fine print to get these bonuses – your funds have to be transfered to Lending Club by December 31, 2010 and then fully invested on the Lending Club platform by January 31, 2011.
