Treasury Officials Moving to Fintech Companies

Former top officials at the US Treasury have moved to fintech companies in recent months, indicating that new cryptocurrency and other fintech regulations could be shaped as much by the private sector as federal agencies; one high profile example is Sigal Mandelker, the former US Treasury Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, who has become a general partner for well-known fintech venture capital firm Ribbit Capital; she told the Wall Street Journal, “My objective is to help build additional bridges between these two worlds” and to “think about investment decisions through the lens that I come from”.
