In a recent interview the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Peter Estlin, said that the UK is looking to form closer ties with China; the Lord Mayor is in China to promote links with the UK in fintech, green finance and the Belt and Road construction; Estlin will run fintech forums in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing to encourage two-way investment; “I’ve got some fintech companies coming with me and I’m hoping they will again see our opportunities for them to invest in China,” Estlin said.
