Global payments partner Anita Boomstein from Manatt Phelps & Phillips shares the latest in what is happening when it comes to fintech regulation; she discusses the OCC’s special purpose national bank charter and the conflict this is causing with state regulators; she answers questions about why this conflict exists and her perspective on why states don’t want to cede authority to the federal government; despite the recent news on this topic it is expected that it will be a long time before any special purpose charter receives final approval and fintechs have to decide how they want to proceed in the interim.
