The P2P Global Investments Trust has reported February performance; NAV return of 0.38% was helped by the firm's current buyback program and is the 33rd consecutive month of positive NAV returns since inception; 12 month return is 3.92% and inception to date return is 14.20%; investment manager is actively diversifying to reduce exposure to US consumer loans and shift to European real estate and bonds.  Source

The WSJ reviews Goldman’s push into consumer finance; the company first started offering loans under the Marcus brand which is the new branding for their savings account; Goldman has higher aspirations though with more initiatives in point of sale, wealth management, budgeting tools, insurance, mortgages and car loans; the company is also working with Fortune 500 companies to offer bank accounts as an employee perk; beyond their internal efforts they have also been active in acquiring fintech companies. The Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) is suing the OCC to challenge its plans for a fintech charter; central to the case is the OCC's authority to grant special purpose bank charters; CSBS President and CEO John Ryan says, "The OCC's proposed action ignores Congress, seeks to preempt state consumer protection laws, harms markets and innovation, and puts taxpayers at risk of inevitable fintech failures." Biz2Credit Releases Monthly Small Business Lending Index Report

Biz2Credit has released data from its monthly small business lending index which analyzes 1,000 small business loan applications processed by the multi-lender; the results show that approval rates from banks and institutional lenders continued to increase while approval rates from alternative lenders and credit unions were lower; Biz2Credit's CEO Rohit Arora attributed some of the increases from larger lenders to improvements in technology at banks which is helping them approve a higher percentage of loans with lower default risk.  Source
