PayPal Invests in Blockchain Company

The news marks PayPal’s first investment in a company focused on leveraging blockchain technology; the investment was part of an extension of a Series A in Cambridge Blockchain which aims at helping financial institutions manage sensitive data; Omidyar Network, Flourish and Future/Perfect Ventures also participated; details of the deal weren’t available but SEC filings show that the company raised $3.5 million from investors over the past nine months; Cambridge Blockchain raised a $7 million Series A round in May 2018.
