MarketInvoice Reports Record Trading Day

UK invoice financing platform MarketInvoice reported a record day of transactions this week; the platform transacted GBP4.1 million ($5.38 million) in invoice advances to UK businesses; the firm's MarketInvoice Pro product has been a factor supporting increased lending volumes on the platform with the new product offering an open funding line for businesses. MarketInvoice Signs £45m Debt Funding Deal

AltFi reports on the new deal where Varengold Bank AG will provide £45m annually to the platform; Varengold is a German private bank which was granted a commercial banking license in 2013; MarketInvoice recently signed a similar partnership with Banco BNI Europa earlier this year. Source

The company passed £1bn in 2016 after 5 years and booked another £1bn in just 14 months; part of their success in increasing originations has been due to two new products, confidential invoice discounting and business loans; their larger institutional investor base has also allowed them to fund larger businesses with bigger funding requirements; in 2017 the firm lent £714.2m to businesses. Russian marketplace lender Blackmoon has launched Blackmoon Crypto for tokenized investment vehicles; seeks to support management of tokenized funds; Blackmoon Crypto is incorporated in Singapore; it will not initially be partnering for US investments however the firm is applying for a broker dealer license in the US. The two companies are both based in Berlin and will collaborate on SME loan financing; solarisBank has initially provided an eight digit investment for financing loans on the Lendico peer-to-peer lending platform; Lendico launched in 2014 and has total lending volume of over EUR100 million. Source

Marketplace Lender, Money Platform, Launches in the UK

Money Platform has launched in the UK with full authorization from the Financial Conduct Authority; the platform provides short term personal loans and seeks to offer a more affordable solution than payday loans; it will include 3 to 12 week loans of up to 1,000 British pounds ($1,255) with interest rates ranging from 0.3% to 0.7% per day; the platform is targeting 12% net returns for investors and will retain 35% of the interest payments from each loan; overall the most a borrower will pay in interest on the platform is 165%.  Source

Marketplace Lenders Support UK Housing Market Initiative

The UK government has released a white paper discussing its real estate property development initiative; UK P2P lenders continue to support the initiative through alternative funding for real estate borrowers; the government will also manage a 1 billion British pound ($1.25 billion) fund for financing specialized real estate developers; the UK is targeting 200,000 new homes.  Source
