Auxmoney Was Profitable in 2017

Auxmoney is an online lending platform based in Germany; the platform grew origination volumes by 75% in the year to €316 million across 40,000 loans; the company now has lent around €700 million across 100,000 loans to date; last year auxmoney announced a partnership with digital bank N26 to expand their borrower base; auxmoney was profitable for the first time in the second half of 2017 which sets them apart from many platforms. Wells Fargo Strikes Agreement with Intuit on Data Sharing

Wells Fargo is teaming up with Intuit which will allow customers to import account information via an API with Intuit products such as QuickBooks; we've recently seen banks opening up their data to empower customers to share their data with third parties; Brett Pitts, head of digital and virtual channels said in a prepared statement, "This agreement creates a much better experience for our shared customers, gives them greater control over their financial data, and enhances the efficiency of the data-sharing process."  Source

In the "Top 10 Disruptive Technologies in Fintech" report, Juniper identifies the emerging technologies that are disrupting and influencing financial services in 2017; the top three include PSD2 and open APIs, regtech, and chatbots; at the top of the list, open APIs are a trend influencing financial services globally and Europe's PSD2 legislation is expected to help accelerate innovation. Mike Cagney Discusses SoFi and Its Business Growth

John Battelle, founder of Newco, talks with SoFi's Mike Cagney about the firm and its business growth; Cagney talks about the firm's customer commitment and the support customers receive over traditional banks; also reports on the verticals it has expanded to since starting the business with student loans; additionally Cagney provides some metrics on the business including that the company has $1 billion in equity on its balance sheet, $6 billion of lending capacity, $9.5 billion in loans for 2017 and estimates $18 to $20 billion in loan originations for 2018.  Source

Chart of the Week: Investment and Wealth Management Tech Market Map

CB Insights has charted a market map of investment and wealth management companies; the market map includes 90 companies in seven main categories with subcategories for client group; for 2016, the firm reports a new high of 74 deals in wealth tech totaling $657 million; Betterment reported the top investment deal in 2016 with a $100 million Series E investment; in 2017 CB Insights reports 17 deals with $130 million in funding and the top investment going to Raisin with a $32 million Series C funding round.  Source
